The Institutional Activity Leader (IAL), one at each member institution, provides local day-to-day management and oversight for Gateway efforts at their institution. The IAL has a major role in the communications for the coalition, providing communication about cross-coalition activity to those on the local scene as well as providing information to the Governing Board, the Principal Investigator, and Gateway Central about Gateway activity on the local campus. As such the Institutional Activity Leader may frequently be the local spokesperson for Gateway.
