methods are germane to every discipline of
engineering. Traditionally each of the departments
has its own version of statistics in the upper
curriculum. The purpose of this course is to
treat the theory in a common class and then
to apply the principles in discipline-specific
recitation sections. Faculty from four departments
(Chemical, Electrical, Civil and Mechanical)
have prepared this text on the fundamental
principles and applications of statistics for
use in a common upper level engineering statistics
course. Application exercises are also included.
