Visualization of the Reservoir Volume Change using
GIS
Cannonsville Reservoir, New York. Drawdown from 0 - 44 meters.
This visualization shows results of the volume modeling
for the Cannonsville reservoir, New York. The purpose of this exercise
is to show how decrease in depth changes water volume within the reservoir.
The bar indicator shows percentage of the water volume correponding
to the current depth, where the blue color shows the changing water
surface.
Depth-to-volume relationship is widely used in environmental modeling
to estimate residence time of various substances within the reservoir.
