Assessment and Feedback
Facilitator: Dr. John Merrill
Dr. John Merrill received his PhD in Instructional
Design and Technology from the Ohio State University in 1985.� He has an extensive
background in public education, corporate training, and contract research.� He is currently Program Manager for the IE
program at the Ohio State University.� His current
responsibilities include management and assessment of the IE program, including
the use of web-based instruments.� He
also collaborates with the Associate Dean of Academic and Student Affairs as
well as key faculty, in the establishment of outcome-based assessment
processes.
Panel Members: Dr. David Dickinson, Dr. Li Tang
Dr. David Dickinson received his BS in Metallurgical
Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1967, and a PhD in Welding
Metallurgy in 1972.� He has been
associated with the Ohio State University since 1972, previously serving as Associate Dean for
Academic Affairs and Department Chairperson in the Welding Engineering
Department, before teaching courses ranging from the IE sequence to graduate
level courses.
Dr. Li Tang is an Instructional
Development Specialist in the Office of Faculty and TA Development at Ohio State University.�
She received her PhD in Higher Educational Administration. Her special
research interests and consulting areas include: faculty development,
instructional development, incorporating instructional technology in teaching,
and peer evaluation of teaching.
