Course Information

Prerequisite: Chemistry C1403. Physical chemistry from the macroscopic point of view, with emphasis on those topics that find applicability in engineering. Equations of state of gases, first and second laws of thermodynamics, introduction to statistical thermodynamics, properties of solutions, phase equilibria, chemical thermodynamics, chemical equilibria, ionic equilibria and voltaic cells, transport processes in gases and liquids, chemical kinetics, crystals, colloid and surface chemistry.
