My aim is to guide students so they can gain a better understanding of some of the basic mathematical techniques and theory which they will need for doing their future work. For students to do this, I expect them to do weekly homework assignments.
Professor Wright has been teaching at Coluumbia since 1972. My research interests fall primarily under the headings of Computational Physics and Applied Mechanics. Applications have included structural dynamics and vibrations, acoustics, nonlinear wave propagation in fluids and solids, heat transfer, seismology, quantum chemistry, and astrophysics.
