My goal is to create leaders of the future in the fields of applied science and technology. I would like to emulate the traditions fostered by our department when i was top rated in the sixtes, emphasizing the basic scientific foundation of physical sciences and mathematics and exploring possible enhancements by employing morden computing tools. In my graduate level courses, I strive to encourage original thinking in the spirit of our identity as a research university.
Professor Dasgupta has published in the areas of computation in viscoelasticity, finite element and boundary element modeling of semi-infinite domains, computer algebra in structural mechanics and computer mathematics in applied mechanics.
