The courses I am teaching are very fundamental. I hope my students will get a solid foundation on each subject so that they will have the necessary tools to expand their knowledge in the field. I do not want to memorize anything; I want them to understand the concepts.
Professor Betti has been at Columbia since 1991. Raimondo Betti specializes in the areas of structural dynamics and earthquake engineering with particular emphasis on the analysis of dynamic soil-structure interation effects for horizontally extended structures. He is a member of the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute, the American Society of Civil Engineers, and Sigma Xi.
