Design of Settling Tank

  1. SFL for calculating area and check overflow rate
  2. Depth of tank (>12 ft)
    Depth = Clarifying + Thickening + Storage
  3. L : D = 10 ~15
  4. Inlet orifice velocity < 15 ~ 30 ft/min to avoid density current
  5. Continuously recycling sludge by centrifugal pumping
  6. Sludge collector-hopper has a high capacity for continuous sludge recycling

    Others same as primary settling tank.
