Time of Flight Sensors


Time of flight sensors emit a signal or pulse which is transmitted through a medium. The transit time through the medium is measured electronically and the distance traveled can be deduced. An applied force causes a deformation of the medium and alters the measured transit time. Sensors using ultrasound pulses through a silicone rubber medium have been developed.
