Current CU Projects:
This is my major current project at Cooper Union. We started to develop this project six years ago under the auspices of the Gateway Engineering Education Coalition and the National Science Foundation.
Its purpose is to familiarize engineering students (juniors, seniors, and graduate students) with various aspects of global engineering and technology management, international negotiations and collaboration, and environmental issues. For the past six years student teams from domestic engineering colleges such as Cooper Union, Carnegie Mellon and the Rensselaer Polytechnic, and foreign teams from Russia, Rumania, Japan and France have participated in these simulations. More than 250 students have already participated in the Globetech simulations. We look forward to even broader participation in the years to come.
To find more about this project and the current simulation, please visit our WWW site: GTK-6
In the Fall '99 the above course was offered on the WWW for the first time, free of charge, to all the students participating in the Globetech-V simulation from any college. Participation in the course is voluntary. The course is designed based 15 x 3 hours sessions, and earns 3 credits (at CU) upon satisfactory completion. Its duration at CU is between September 1 and December 15.
