COURSE OUTLINE


E1115 focuses on the use 3D modeling and visualization techniques for product design. During the first have of the semester, students are exposed to the basic tools used for 3D design and visualization. A series of in-class exercises teaches the students the tools necessary to generate 3D prototypes.

In the second half of the semester, students select an existing product to analyze and understand its intrinsic design qualities. Students learn the technicalities associated with that particular product by reverse-engineering the design process.

The final phase of the class focuses on design proposals that inherit the analytical design skills learned during the semester.
