The concept of the Virtual Classroom is to substitute class lectures for modular based teaching aids in an open classroom where the professor meets with small groups of students in an informal setting. These modules were written to instruct students on the usage of HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS, programs used to conduct watershed runoff and backwater curve computations. These modules are presently being used in a required course in Civil Engineering, "Water Resource Engineering".
