Publications, Presentations & Workshops
As part of its outreach efforts to K-12 instructors, NJIT has run 1- and 2-week short courses for middle and high school teachers to introduce them to various aspects of engineering. The goal is to help teachers integrate engineering concepts and applications into their courses to expose more students to engineering. By doing so, students are better informed about what engineering is and what engineers do, and are more likely to select engineering as a major if it matches their interests. This deliverable includes presentation materials from the 2002 workshop, "Integrating Chemical Engineering into High School Science (9th-12th Grade Teachers). presented by Master Teacher and Professor Deran Hanesian.
