The “Engineering Mechanics Studio/Classroom” (EMS/C) was developed for the Engineering Mechanics course (ESC100) given at the Cooper Union – Albert Nerken School of Engineering. In this course both statics and dynamics are taught in a fifteen week semester. ESC100 is currently taken in sophomore year by those students majoring in civil, mechanical and electrical engineering. Three sections are offered with a total enrollment of approximately 80 to 90 students. The EMS/C will provide the student with the classical mode of lecturing enhanced by tabletop experiments used as demos or homework assignments and work stations with computers having internet access.
