To remove 55% of suspended solid and 30% of BOD5 of
influent water
At Qp, the square overflow rate, SOR=1500 gal/ft2.day
for each tank, check SOR at QA
Detention time DT=2.0 hr based on QA
Submerged orifice for inlet
V-notch outlet weir
Weir width=25'
For a well-designed and operated basin,
the typical removal of suspended solids and BOD5 from
municipal waster water as a function of overflow rate is given in Figure
11.
