The subsequent life activities of its graduates are among the most important outcomes of NJIT�s educational performance.� The mission of NJIT includes preparation of students for careers and life-long learning, and evidence that these objectives have been met can only be captured after the educational experience has been completed.� Strategies in use by the University for assessing alumni performance include employer surveys, graduating student surveys, and alumni surveys.� This report summarizes results of the alumni survey conducted in fall 1999.� Alumni from all schools and colleges of the university, and alumni graduating in 1997, 1998, and 1999 are included.

The purpose of this assessment is to afford faculty and their students an opportunity to review and evaluate the acquisition and demonstration of specific knowledge, skills, and abilities. This review takes place at the conclusion of each phase of the Freshman Design Project. The faculty member�s assessment is recorded on this review form. A copy of the completed evaluation is given to the student team as additional feedback on their performance.

Team Developer

The Team Developer is an electronic assessment and feedback system designed to help the student grow and develop as a team member by providing a mechanism for 360-degree feedback of all team members. The format enables all team members to communicate concerns, issues, and evaluations in a constructive fashion. The feedback process it fosters helps enhance team member communication and improve team performance. Intended for students, who work on problem-solving teams, group case analyses, or students making team presentations.
Student Guidebook provides background on some key skills needed to be an effective team member. Each chapter addresses a key aspect of team behavior. A sample chapter can be downloaded below. Team Developer Sampler
